And the ‘Best in Class’ Is… MarkLogic’s Jen Shorten for Information Age Data50 Awards

At MarkLogic we pride ourselves on the quality of our team. Jen Shorten, Technical Delivery Architect for Europe, Middle East and Asia (EMEA), is a great example.

I’m thrilled that Jen has made it into the prestigious Information Age 2017 Data50 hall of fame, which celebrates the top 50 people and organisations at the forefront of data innovation in the UK.

And, even better, at the awards dinner in London on May 18, she went one step further, scooping “Best in Class” in the Data Management and Protection category as well, despite very strong competition.

Jen triumphed because of her outstanding work in conceptualizing, planning and delivering transformative data-driven applications for many of our enterprise customers in Europe.

A self-proclaimed Data Nerd, Jen has notched up a number of firsts over the years and is currently working her magic in the public sector. For the past year, she has been helping to build the UK’s first multi-agency safeguarding hub (MASH) for a regional police force using the MarkLogic Enterprise NoSQL database platform.

Best In Class - Jen Shorten

Upon joining MarkLogic in 2014, her first engagement was to lead the first EMEA implementation of our semantic technologies. The project was for a UK standards organisation supporting heavily-regulated industries. The result is a powerful semantics-based application with an intuitive user interface that has simplified and accelerated document search and retrieval.

With a background in biology and neuroscience, Jen focuses her great intellect and expertise on working closely with our growing European customer base to develop data-driven applications that solve large-scale data integration challenges to drive business outcomes.

Congratulations Jen!
